JOB SUMMARY The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of skilled operators in the fabrication of structural assemblies and components, motivating team members, and monitoring daily operations to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow that meets production goals and objectives. The Assembly Supervisor works in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and teamwork-driven environment that embraces continuous improvement in increasing production efficiency, reducing waste, and operating at an optimal level. REPORTS TO The Assembly Supervisor directly reports to the Production Manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION Education, Training, and/or Experience U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Valid Driver’s License Bachelor’s Degree (combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree) Minimum 5 years of experience working in composite manufacturing (aircraft assembly preferred) Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team or project Certification in Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing (combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of certificate) Certification and training in Industrial Production, Engineering, or related field preferred Knowledge of GD&T and ASME standards highly preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time Frequently required to use eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, repetitive hand movements, and manual dexterity Occasionally required to use hands to hold steady, handle, grasp, finger or feel Occasionally required to walk, squat, kneel, use foot controls, or perform vibratory tasks Occasionally required to bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus Hearing level within normal/average range Environment includes working in the presence of hazardous chemicals, resins, and fiberglass (PPE provided as necessary) ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Knowledgeable in manufacturing tools and equipment Ability to use basic hand and pneumatic tools to drill, countersink, fit, rivet, and finish parts Mechanically inclined with ability to troubleshoot and resolve production and quality challenges Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, specifications, and work instructions Proficiency in process specifications and familiarity in composite bonding, sealing, and potting compounds Strong work ethic, self‐motivation, accountability, and responsibility Excellent organization, oral and written communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and time management skills Fundamental proficiency with CATIA and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Supervise all Assembly and Paint staff and operations Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new hires Manage team member leave requests, maintain accurate time and attendance records, and conduct performance reviews Determine, manage, and communicate department priorities Provide training opportunities that support the growth and development of team members Develop, organize, and implement training and educational material Keep production on/ahead of schedule; monitor workflow and balance workloads to meet production demand Coordinate department activities in conjunction with other departments to reach established production goals Evaluate operations for production quality, compliance, and maximum output/optimum efficiency Provide daily updates on production statuses and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Investigate production delays or quality issues Identify shortages and respond accordingly; procure sub-assemblies, parts, tools, or supplies needed Make recommendations in scheduling, staffing, and/or resource allocation Provide direction and technical guidance as needed Communicate with team and leadership to ensure policies and procedures are fully understood and properly executed Maintain and promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment Other duties as assigned
