Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

The Aspenwood Company has an opportunity for full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse at our Village on the Park McKinney location a senior living community.

Pay Rate: $29/hr. 

The LVN coordinates care according to the resident’s needs, monitors the care provided and oversees the medication management program.  Must desire to work with seniors and have a tolerance for behaviors associated with dementia and other aging processes. Abides by and upholds company core values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for medication management for the Assisted living and/or Memory Care residents in compliance with Federal & State regulations and The Aspenwood Company guidelines.

  • Communicate with physicians, other medical professionals, and/or responsible parties regarding treatments, and/or needs.

  • Assures that that all required medications are ordered in a timely manner and audits medication carts and narcotics frequently.

  • May be responsible for the admissions of new residents to include admission evaluations and documentation.

  • Responsible for completing evaluations and assisting the directors with service plans, if needed. 

  • Responds quickly to all emergencies. 

  • Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members. 

  • Monitors Medication Assistants and Resident Assistants documentation to assure accuracy, timeliness and completeness. 

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, positioning, transfer, mobility and incontinence care, as well as administering medications when needed.

  • Verifies Service Plans are current and accurate as needed. Notifies Supervisor of discrepancies. Assists with data collection for all incident reports and inputs reports as they occur.

  • Manages and facilities orientation process for all new employees on shift. 

  • Assures effective communications between direct care staff and client/resident families.

  • Assists with staff scheduling.

  • Attend all in-services as required. 

  • Maintains a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies. 

  • Other responsibilities as assigned. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • VALID LVN license in current state
  • Experience in long-term care preferred but will train
  • CPR Certified
  • Computer skills EHR proficiency
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgement and attention to detail 
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements
