Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.  Effector RF Products is responsible for providing innovative design solutions for the packaging of antennas, RF Circuit Card Assemblies, radomes, and RF test equipment. The selected candidate will be expected to lead diverse multidiscipline teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, enable modernization, and contribute to general innovation. In addition, the candidate will work with customer personnel and program leadership to define and refine requirements to validate hardware compliance. The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within the candidate’s areas of expertise. Responsibilities will be split between supporting Effector RF Products program(s) as an engineer (~90%) and providing functional support to the section “RF Mechanical” (~10%).  This is an onsite position, located in Tucson, AZ. *What You Will Do* Section Leader Responsibilities: As a Section Leader, responsibilities include working closely with the Effector RF Products Department Leader and other Section Leaders to align the department with company direction.  Section Leaders are trustworthy and accountable, willing and able to coach and mentor section members and hold critical conversations. Other responsibilities include the following: * Support hiring (resume reviews, interviews, etc.) * Support and/or drive department initiatives and goals * Promote collaboration across functional and program boundaries * Support section member performance, career development, and growth throughout the year * Hold required formal Mid-Year and Year-End Performance Impact discussions where complied feedback, key strengths and development needs, are conveyed Engineering Responsibilities: As a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities include small team technical leadership, development of common and mature RF products, and acting as a technical resource within the organization. A Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer develops and implements sound and innovative solutions to overcome difficult problems while considering quality, cost, schedule, and performance. *Qualifications You Must Have* * Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years of experience to include: * Professional experience performing design and analysis for the packaging of RF products (e.g. Circuit Card Assemblies, antennas, radomes, RF test equipment, harnesses and interconnects) throughout the product life cycle to include three dimensional (3D) Computer Aided Design (CAD) software * Creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for RF products * Current or previous professional experience in leading a team * The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. *Qualifications We Prefer* * Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering * Experience serving as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA), Control Account Manager (CAM), and/or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) * Supplier management for built to print or build to specification RF products * Creo Simulate or ANSYS Workbench for preliminary structural and thermal analysis of design concepts * Failure investigation, root cause identification, and corrective action implementation * Familiarity or direct experience with RF Printed Circuit Board (PCB) material stack ups and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) layout * One dimensional tolerance analysis for complex mechanical assemblies * Development of technical proposals, engineering project estimates, and/or white papers * Requirements verification test planning and execution * Experience creating and presenting professional level design documentation to company leadership and program customers *What We Offer* Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
