Paid Holidays: 15 - 18 paid holidays PTO: Earn 18 - 28 days annually Tuition Waiver Program Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance KPERs Overview / Job Summary: The Data Analyst position is responsible for gathering, manipulating, and analyzing fundamental data streams needed for institutional decision-making, grant applications, and grant reporting. The position is responsible for preparing and submitting timely and accurate data reports for grants, special projects, and various other items requested from the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. Survey data reporting, statistical analysis and data visualization are also important tasks for this position. Auditing data utilized for reporting, identifying new reporting needs, and creating data queries within business intelligence tools are additional critical day-to-day tasks of the position.

Your day-to-day

responsibilities

will vary, but are not limited to: Writes queries and business intelligence reports to extract needed data from the Student Information System (Banner) and other systems needed for reporting. Develops a comprehensive understanding of the institutional data structure that will assist with data auditing, report accuracy, and report writing. Analyzes student data and creates reports that can be shared with various user groups. Assists with automating repeatable tasks within the overall data architecture of the college and within Institutional Effectiveness processes. Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reported data. Responds to internal ad hoc data requests as assigned. This role involves preparing complex, confidential data files, reports, tables, graphs, data visualizations, and surveys for both internal and external stakeholders. The individual independently collaborates with the Director of Grants Management to coordinate reporting timelines and produce institutional data reports required for grant applications and post-award reporting. Additionally, the role supports various quality improvement projects and special assignments as directed by the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a business, social science, computer science, data analytics, or a related discipline

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience; required. Preferred Requirements:

Minimum of one year of experience managing projects which demonstrates an ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, prioritizing multiple complex projects from beginning to end meeting all deadlines required. Minimum of one year of experience working on projects involving data analysis required. Experience working within Microsoft Office tools required. Fundamental knowledge of descriptive statistics is required. Fundamental knowledge of building business intelligence reports and/or querying data required; knowledge of SQL queries, relational databases, and basic programming preferred. Experience working with student-level data in an institution of higher education preferred. Experience with Python, R, Stata, or SPSS preferred. Successful candidates must at minimum have a willingness to learn a programming language. Experience with Ellucian Banner, IBM Cognos Analytics, and Microsoft Power BI preferred. Experience with conducting social/educational research and/or evaluation projects preferred.
