Full Job Description

Please read entire job listing and include a cover letter indicating why you might be a good fit based on this description.*** This is an independent contract position for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) at a private-pay group private practice in the Crystal River, Florida. It is an ideal position for a Therapist who is passionate about their work and would essentially like to be in business for themselves but at a Practice where all of the foundational business components and systems are already in place - and where you will receive new client inquiries, marketing assistance, and consultation to help you grow. As a part of your rate split, we provide a furnished office space, access to our electronic health record (plus a secure video platform), support/resources, and space on our well-established website for a picture and bio. This is not an entirely passive position and will likely involve slow and gradual growth with the need for therapist to build a presence and market themselves to some degree in order to be successful.

Contract therapist will be able to work within their specialty, with their "ideal client", using the methods they prefer. This position is most ideal for someone who is not initially relying on contract work to be a primary form of income. Building a caseload may take some time, with client referrals coming from marketing efforts done by The Dwelling Place Counseling Center and website traffic. Independent contractor will receive some general inquiries as they come into the practice but may not be able to be fully dependent on the practice to build a full caseload. Therapist may also need to market themselves on counseling directories (such as Psychology Today) and network in the community in order to establish a presence. In an effort to grow the practice and accelerate a presence withing the community, the Dwelling Place Counseling Center will participate in community events and request our providers to make a presence at these events as well. The Dwelling Place Counseling Center can provide resources, marketing, and business consultation.

As an independent contractor, therapist may have some of their own expenses (transportation, computer equipment/phone/supplies needed for work, etc). In addition, independent contractors will not be employees of the practice and are not eligible for benefits that may come along with W2 employment (such as paid time off, health insurance, retirement savings/matching).
