Durham OB-GYN of South Durham - 234 Crooked Creek Pkwy

$10,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible Paid out in 4 equal installments over 24 months in 6-month increments.

Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the Commitment bonus.

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Sonographer in our Durham OB-GYN of South Durham clinic located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, explain procedure to patient. Report change in condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to providers. Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated.
  • Enter appropriate charges in Maestro for US procedures
  • Maintain log for patients requiring follow-up procedures. Initiate appointment scheduling as necessary for patients who do not return
  • Archive and de-archive ultrasound data.
  • Coordinate scheduling and patient flow for add-on ultrasounds.
  • Assist in teach of ultrasound technology to new providers.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification
  • BLS required
  • Level I - Must obtain ARDMS certifications as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
  • Level II - Minimum of two years' experience as a Sonographer.

JOB HOURS:

The schedule for this position is day shifts.
