Lead Sourcing Specialist - Buying/Procurement

To manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, and interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Positions requiring thorough understanding, application, and mastery of approaches, theories, methodologies, and application in a concrete organizational context.

As a Lead Sourcing Specialist - Buying/Procurement, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the Customer Service and Engineering team during customer quotation and the New Part Creation (NPC) process. Measure and hold suppliers accountable for timely responsiveness on Request for Quotes (RFQs)
  • Interacting with the Global Commodity Leaders (GCLs) and participating during strategy creation for all major categories for the site
  • When needed, create and follow-up on non-standard Purchase Orders (POs); such as Blanket POs, Letter of Intents (LOIs), Contract Life Cycle Management, etc.
  • Obtaining the latest price list from the Strategic Sourcing team and communicating with the Procurement Buyers and Customer Service teams
  • Creating and maintaining accurate Purchase Info Records (PIRs). Manage New Supplier Add and maintain updated supplier information in all systems used at the site
  • Partnering with Materials Planning and Manufacturing while defining Make Buyingand Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) strategies. Support on Material Synchronization/alignment to meet the quarterly and annual business goals

Required Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Sourcing).
  • Have 3-4 years of experience in Buying-Procurement, Engineering, or Materials Planning
  • Experience in the Valves, Oil and Gas, and Manufacturing experience
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required for this role
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, Ariba, ThoughtSpot, and similar Data Analytics tools
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams and meetings
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Lead and implement Lean /Six Sigma initiatives
