Job Description

  • Fire protection engineers apply an understanding of fire science and national codes/standards to assist clients in building development, life safety analysis, and the ITM (installation, testing, & maintenance) of fire protection systems.
  • Reviewing fire suppression and fire detection systems plans for compliance with adopted codes.
  • Providing wholistic life safety evaluations for new and existing buildings to ensure occupants can exit safely during an emergency.
  • Designing fire suppression and fire alarm systems to meet requirements for various occupancies.
  • Working with building owners to identify requirements for code compliance.
  • Assist in plan/code reviews, develop fire protection designs, prepare evaluation reports, and utilize their knowledge of adopted codes and standards to serve our clients.
  • Willingness to travel approx. 25-35% of each month (depending on experience and project type/location). Travel includes professional conferences and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or desire to obtain an EIT certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in fire protection
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience
  • Masters degree in fire protection engineering
  • Prior fire protection experience

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Willingness to travel: 50% (Preferred)
