Job Description Job Description Korean Researcher
ManpowerGroup Public Sector, a ManpowerGroup Company, provides foreign language services to the government and industry. Our Government Language Solutions department (GLS) has one opening for a full-time Korean Researcher for one of our government contracts.
Work Location: Falls Church, VA and possible remote work
Equipment: All work must be performed on Manpower computers and equipment.
Pay Rate: The pay rate is between $40-$45/hour.
Hours: Full-time (during normal business hours).
Training in our specific tools and workflow will be provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform diverse technical and linguistic tasks including, but not limited to:
• Conduct in-depth research on scientific and technical Korean language content.
• Translate grey literature from Korean into English.
• Enrich translated content via additional research.
• Produce reports in structured client-designated formats, adhering to the client’s style guide.
• Review and provide feedback on others’ work.
• Perform data entry and exploitation in customized environments based on client requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-processing of linguistic data, as needed.
• Train and help manage junior staff, as needed.
Requirements • US Citizenship
• Native Korean language skills.
• A four-year college degree, preferably in science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with open-source research/analysis, preferably with a focus on science, technology, or related fields.
• Near-native English language proficiency.
• Accurate keyboarding/typing skills in English and Korean (a minimum of 45 words per minute is required in English, and candidates will be tested).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Collaboration Skills – Receive and incorporate feedback.
• Adaptability – Learn to use new technology and grasp complex tasks quickly.
• Keen attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Six years of K-12 education in the Korean education system.
• Translation experience, particularly for science and technology subject matters.
• ILR translation score of 3 or above.
• Active security clearance.
• Ability to write and modify scripts and macros in Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of data confidentiality methodology and procedures.
