IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

CCB Packaging, a locally owned leader in the packaging industry, is currently seeking a highly-motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team! This position is responsible for providing software and technical assistance to all users, including installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of software applications. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities include :

• Responsible for the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, cameras, mobile devices, software, and peripherals.

• Acts as software and hardware support to the entire company, providing technical assistance to all employees.

• Responds to user requests for service in a timely manner and determines nature and extent of support needed.

• Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots a wide range of software used throughout the company; Performs hardware/software upgrades and patches to existing computer equipment as needed.

• Establishes and maintains users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining that their configurations are within standards.

• Coordinates projects to install new software applications or hardware on the network, gathering assistance from third parties when necessary.

• Monitors computer network connectivity support (including wireless) and issues resolutions for network users and equipment to assure uninterrupted plant operations.

• Researches, evaluates and proposes the use of new technologies to assist in accomplishing the company’s strategic objectives.

• Maintains and monitors IT infrastructure equipment inventories to assure traceability and timely end-of-life replacement.

• Acts independently to make decisions regarding involvement of third party support and coordinate external resources.

• Monitors and reports licenses on applications to ensure compliance.

• Responsible for all system backups, disaster recovery documentation, disaster recovery testing, and maintains current documentation for all servers, networks and applications.

• Monitors and manages company cyber security protection and antivirus programs.

• Performs other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

Education / Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and at least 3-5 years’ experience in a Windows client/server environment required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prior experience maintaining IT systems preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written).

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

• Dedication to seeing issues through to closure and following up to ensure resolution has been accomplished.

• Ability to be self-directed while still displaying strong commitment to teams.

• Passion for identifying efficiency opportunities and driving process improvement.

• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

• Experience with Microsoft environments, including Windows operating systems, SQL Studio, Active Directory, and Exchange consoles.
