Overview

We are seeking an IT Support Intern to join our team in either Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux Center, IA. In this role, you will support the internal customers and computer systems of Interstates, ensuring our team can efficiently serve our external customers. This includes managing and maintaining hardware, software, data, and communication systems, along with other associated responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a desire to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides general computer support including:
    • Answering software and hardware support calls for office and remote users.
    • Installing software packages and updates on network and individual PC's.
    • Installing hardware on network and individual PC's.
    • Setting up and installing new computers.
    • Calling vendors for support as needed.
    • Designing spreadsheets and databases.
    • Investigating and ordering computer products.
    • Providing limited training and instruction.
    • Testing and analysis of computer systems and programs.
  • Assists in HIPAA compliance including:
    • Ensuring compliance with privacy practices.
    • Participating in HIPAA training on PHI.
    • Maintaining and updating PHI requirements as requested.

This position may have access to Protected Health Information. In accord with HIPAA Privacy Rule, the person filling this position has been trained on Interstates HIPAA Privacy Policy and agrees to abide by the stipulations set forth in that

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Travel Requirements: Less than 5% overnight travel expected.
