Description:

As the IT Manager at DEPS, you play a crucial role in maintaining and implementing internal computer and network infrastructure while also overseeing the planning and implementation of IT-related equipment for DEPS customers. You are responsible for ensuring smooth operations, efficient service delivery, and customer satisfaction.


Schedule:

In-person Monday-Friday (8am-5pm) *Remote work is not an option for this position*


Job Duties:

  1. Prepare Job & Service Tickets and Schedule: Organize and schedule job and service tickets efficiently to meet customer needs and internal requirements.
  2. Oversee IT Technicians and Provide Technical Assistance: Supervise IT technicians, offering guidance and technical support as necessary to ensure quality service delivery.
  3. Assist Salesmen with Quoting Integrated Projects: Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical expertise and assist in preparing quotes for integrated IT projects.
  4. Create and Manage Schedule and Budget: Develop and maintain schedules and budgets for IT department activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
  5. Plan, Coordinate, and Implement Network Security Equipment: Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of network security equipment for new installations, ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems.
  6. Coordinate with Vendors: Liaise with vendors to procure computers, software, hardware, parts, and other necessary IT equipment and supplies.
  7. Maintain Software Licenses and Subscriptions: Manage software licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and timely renewals.
  8. Monitor and Maintain Data Backups: Implement and oversee data backup systems, monitoring and maintaining critical backups to safeguard against data loss.
  9. Learn Industry-Required Systems: Continuously develop expertise in industry-required systems such as access control, IP video, and other IP security interfaces to stay abreast of technological advancements.
  10. Maintain Industry Certifications: Keep industry-related certifications up-to-date, including but not limited to Galaxy, ONSSI, and Mobotix, to ensure proficiency in relevant technologies.

Backup Assistance for the City of Jacksonville: Provide backup support for the City of Jacksonville on Fridays if a technician is unavailable, ensuring continuity of service.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer networking and IT systems, including servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and processes.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment: Requires sitting, standing, and hand/eye coordination.
  • Field environment: Requires standing, stooping, kneeling, bending over, and hand/eye coordination.
