Requirements

We are searching for a candidate with:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and see projects through to completion. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including working additional hours to meet tight deadlines and/or travelling as needed. Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a complex matrix environment. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to travel up to 50% as required. Bilingual in Spanish required. Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology or related field or equivalent work experience. Master's degree in human resource management or related degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience resolving complex associate relations issues. Attention to detail and experience handling sensitive and confidential information. Labor relations and contract negotiations experience a plus. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

Assists the management team in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures, organizational training, and development planning for company associates.

Partners with line management, providing HR guidance and policy interpretation when appropriate. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Ensures compliance in all policies, procedures, and reporting. Manages and resolves complex associate relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required. Works closely with management and associates to improve associate engagement, build morale, and increase productivity, and retention. Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and staffing strategies for peak staffing cycles.

Participates in recruiting and onboarding efforts, to include phone screenings, interviews, reference checks, pre-employment processes, and new hire orientations, primarily for production level and front-line leadership positions.

Participates in safety committee meetings, conducts facility walk-through's identifying safety issues, and may assist with investigating safety incidents in coordination with Safety team members. Works with Operations and HR management to arrive at appropriate resolution of associate relations issues. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions). Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Coordinates with operations management and associates to ensure compliance with people-related company policies, state and federal regulatory rules, and communications. Facilitates training when requested.

May assist management team and insurance carrier to resolve workers' compensation claims and returning associates back to work timely. Maintains associate records in Human Resource Information System (HRIS), including new hires, transfers, terminations, job classification changes, and tracking paid time off.

Ability to support management and associates in a manufacturing environment adhering to all safety standards.
