Director of Information Technology

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the Secretary of State’s IT Division by developing and implementing a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the agency’s overall objectives, ensuring efficient resource allocation. This position will manage the IT division staff, and oversee all aspects of technology infrastructure, systems, software development, data, and network security. This position requires a leader with a vision for advancement of technology that will enhance the agency’s productivity and deliver exceptional service to customers. This position works closely with senior leaders and agency executives to align IT systems to their requirements and to ensure efficiency of security and IT capabilities.. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum level of education and experience required to perform the job. Minimum of five years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security and IT jobs. Employment history must demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility, including experience managing IT staff. Preferred Qualifications: Any additional skills, experiences, or qualifications that would be beneficial, but aren’t strictly necessary. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work or education-related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences. Must be a critical thinker, with strong problem-solving skills. Project management skills: financial/budget management, scheduling, and resource management. Ability to lead and motivate division staff. Must possess a positive attitude.
