Job Description :
The Insurance Verification Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that medical insurance benefits are accurately verified for various procedures. This includes surgery and pain management treatments. The role also involves calculating patient financial responsibilities, obtaining required authorizations, and providing support to other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities :

• Verify medical insurance benefits, including coverage for surgeries
• Provide financial responsibility estimates to patients
• Obtain and confirm necessary authorizations and referrals
• Support the admissions and surgery scheduling teams
• Collect patient payments and handle phone communications

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of insurance verification experience (surgical experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, Medicare, and third-party payors
• Comfortable with explaining authorizations and financial obligations to patients
• Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
• BLS certification preferred

Additional Details :

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7 AM - 5 PM
