POSITION: Cyber Security Analyst

ACCOUNTABLE TO: VP, IT - Operations

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

This role will require advanced knowledge of IT systems and processes, cyber security tools, and mitigation techniques. The primary responsibility is to create a dynamic cybersecurity risk profile specific to our company using vulnerability scans, threat intelligence, infrastructure configuration and other related information. The individual will be responsible for creating, managing, and in some instances executing the remediation plans.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform periodic vulnerability scans, using automation tools.
* Analyze results of the scans, validate identified vulnerabilities, and assess risks of the asset in the environment.
* Conduct security monitoring and cyber-related investigations and analyze security event logs and triage alerts.
* Monitor the security operations tools and resources.
* Identify and document security incidents to enable mitigation of potential cybersecurity defense incidents within the enterprise.
* Monitor external data sources to maintain the currency of cybersecurity defense systems and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.
* Assist in the scoping and development of new cybersecurity initiatives.
* Acts as the lead to implement and support critical information security processes such as access management, security awareness, access certification, and others.
* Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations or policy.
* Create, modify, and mature vulnerability management reports and metrics, to drive remediation of vulnerabilities throughout the environment.
* Maintain a central repository of identified vulnerabilities.
* Work with developers and system administrators to ensure that cybersecurity is baked into applications and system configurations.

BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science
* 4+ years of relevant experience as a Cyber Security Analyst, IT Security Analyst, or another security oriented position is required.
* Strong familiarity with Cyber Security best practices, security frameworks, and compliance.
* Ability to create documentation for new projects and build collaborations within the organization.
* Ability to explain tough technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
* Strong problem-solving skills..
* Industry security certification preferred (GSE, Sec +, CySA+, SSCP).
* Experience with computer network penetration testing and remediation.
* Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, EDR/MDR.
* Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them including the operation of vulnerability scanning software.
* Understanding of patch management and understanding business impact.
* Knowledge of current Windows Server, Windows Workstation, Linux, and Active Directory environments.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels and interest working within our Funding Corporation team.
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility to changing requirements.

COMPENSATION

$90-$120K (DoE) + Annual bonus

  • Hybrid Work Schedule - Remote Monday & Friday. On-site Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
