SUMMARY

Assumes primary responsibility for recruiting children from various homeless shelters in Baltimore City and County to attend Camp St. Vincent and processes all enrollment paperwork. Provides back up support to camp staff and acts as substitute group instructor as necessary.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Prepares recruitment materials and recruits campers by coordinating closely with homeless service providers. Processes enrollment paper work by entering all campers in EZ Camp system and maintains and updates the EZCamp database. Completes all group and bus rosters, updating weekly and sends out enrollment notices to shelter providers; monitors attendance daily and informs Assistant Director of any problems. Substitutes and performs the duties of absent group instructors and provides temporary relief for instructors as needed. Provides assistance to Assistant Director and Operations Director on an as needed basis. SECONDARY DUTIES

Attends pre-camp training program and participates in advance planning prior to the start of camp. Promotes good camp spirit and unity. Assists in providing supervision during mealtime and other large group gatherings. Other duties assigned within the scope of the position. ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Assists with and attends special events held by the Center and St. Vincent de Paul as necessary. Upholds the vision, mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul. Attends all staff meetings and other meetings as required/directed. Supports a welcoming and positive environment for volunteers and works with them effectively. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position. QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of college education; BA or BS preferred, or appropriate certifications. Experience in teaching children; professional educators with expertise are preferred. Possess creative abilities and appreciation of the outdoor, natural environment. Ability to commit to 8 weeks of uninterrupted work and pre and post camp planning meetings. Capable of implementing daily activities through verbal and written communication (daily lesson plans). A genuine liking for children and outdoor camp life. Emotional maturity, integrity, and high moral character Successful completion of background screening. Very strong computer skills, including demonstrated competencies in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel, use of Internet. Ability to master computer software with high levels of competency database software programs Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Environmental conditions: Primarily Indoor Work Primarily Outdoor work

Type of work: SEDENTARY WORK: Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying small articles and occasional walking and standing.

LIGHT WORK: Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. It involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing/pulling of arm/or leg controls.

XMEDIUM WORK: Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds.

HEAVY WORK: Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects no more than 50 pounds.
