Student Success- Media Coordinator - Wheeling WV

Wheeling University, a vibrant Catholic institution, invites applications for Coordinator, Student Success Center and Medical Specialist full-time. The Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and management of the everyday operations of the Learning Center and the Campus Library which houses a tutoring/computer usage area, adaptive technology lab, and testing center. Responsible for the development of learning support programs and operations associated with student academic preparation and remediation of identified skills.

  • The Coordinator will exchange ideas, facts, information, and opinions effectively and accurately with others; arrive at decisions, develop solutions and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce and student population.
  • Have the ability to make administrative and procedural decisions, interpret policy and establish methods and procedures.
  • Oversee administration of placement and exit testing, including scheduling, purchasing, scoring, and reporting
  • Coordinate instruction and delivery of tutoring and learning support services including the recruitment, training, and supervision of peer and adult tutors
  • Develop and monitor department budget and purchases
  • Maintain records and reports for certification and assessment purposes
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Collaborate with the Director of Disability Services to support faculty and staff in access concerns/issues for the students and to provide adaptive education services to students
  • Oversee all aspects of career services and experiential learning opportunities
Medial/Library Specialist
  • Aids with the general operation of the library.
  • In-charge; opening and closing the library; answering telephones; assisting with circulation; maintaining statistics
  • Supervising and training staff and student employees
  • Attending and participating in committee meetings, training programs, workshops and conferences; ordering and cataloging serials; maintaining individual serial titles in the serial control database; overseeing the receipt of serials titles; participating in general collection management including collection evaluation and development

Qualifications

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be committed to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete and be able to support and promote the University's mission.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred, in Counseling, Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or related field. Three years' experience in career services, human resources, education is desirable.
