We are hiring a Human Resources Specialist  to our growing team! The Human Resources Specialist is a vital member of the Human Resources Department. The HR Information Specialist is under the supervision of the Human Resources Director  and is primarily responsible for recording and maintaining employee information, tracking critical employee details and responding to requests for information from both internal and external sources. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enters and maintains accurate employment records related to all company employees using human resources management system (HRMS) software. Input data into the system documenting events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
  • Records data for each employee, including such information as employee demographics, rates of pay, absences, benefit elections, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for employee-related events.
  • Maintains personnel documentation for employee demographic and information changes such as name changes, address changes, benefit elections, leaves of absence, etc..
  • Fields inquiries from various sources for employment verification ensuring proper authority has been granted and information is provided using appropriate confidentiality measures.
  • Maintains and updates human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
  • Works with Benefits Manager to assist with benefit administration and acts as a backup to  perform benefit related tasks when needed to cover for absences or workflow issues.
  • Analyzes employment-related data and prepares required reports as directed by the VP of HR.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Examines Paycom and employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to supervisors regarding personnel actions affecting their subordinate employees.
  • Designs and produces effective HR related procedural documents as directed by the VP of HR.
  • Files documents and reports in the appropriate employee personnel file in an accurate and consistent manner while maintaining appropriate confidentiality  and physical security standards.
  • Oversees Company Driver Program from the HR perspective 
  • Oversees Zendesk Ticketing System 
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with employees, interns and persons served/clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.
  • Protect the privacy of all staff and persons served/client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. 

Key Experience and Education Needed:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Substance abuse experience preferred.
  • Appropriate State and Federal Clearances 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system
  • Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and family interdependence and positive cultural identity
  • Knowledge of the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact of alcohol and other drugs on the individual and family 
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction
  • Knowledge of the law’s rules and requirements of the Human Resources department
  • Attention to detail and organization a must
  • Ability to interact with staff in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work- and work-related responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served
