EFFECTIVE DATE: October 21, 2024

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned.
•Develops and teaches from curriculum based on Indiana State Standards of art
•Organizes and presents daily lesson plans that reflect instructional best practices as outlined in school improvement plans or professional development initiatives
•Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices successfully
•Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that provide developmentally age appropriate experiences and promote student engagement
•Assists in the development and evaluation of curriculum maps
•Participates in the textbook adoption process
•Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each students
•Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
•Implements strategies to keep students and parents informed of academic and behavioral performance
•Identifies students' needs, makes appropriate referrals, and implements appropriate accommodations/interventions as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Learning Plans (ILP), 504 Plans, or Multi-tier System of Support (MTSS) Plans
•Administers all assessments required by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and complies with Testing Security Policy
•Meets the "effective", "highly effective" rating as it relates to the SCS Teacher Evaluation
•Creates an organized environment conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays
•Displays students' work to promote art appreciation
•Utilizes technology as an instructional, communication, and management tool
•Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve and promote an effective learning atmosphere
•Communicates and meets with parents as needed
•Contributes productively to the school as a whole
•Responds to parents' inquiries in a timely manner
•Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district
•Displays knowledge of corporation and school policies
•Handles clerical functions/reports related to job responsibilities in a timely manner
•Maintains satisfactory attendance
•Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
•Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
