Who we are:
Guilderland Animal Hospital is a one-doctor, full-service animal hospital ready to hire a friendly and dedicated Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Attendant to join our dedicated team. This position is integral in providing excellent patient care and outstanding customer service to our clients. We are looking for someone who will be cross-trained to do both positions. This is a full-time position that requires a flexible schedule.
Assistant responsibilities include:
Getting medical history during appointments.
Assisting the veterinarian.
Pharmacy duties.
Restraining animals.
Putting charges in the computer.
Handling medical records.
Kennel Attendant responsibilities include:
Walking the dogs.
Cleaning dog runs/cages and cat cages.
Feeding pets in the kennel.
Administering medications if needed.
Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kennel area and the hospital.
This position requires rotating evening, Saturday, and Sunday shifts and rotating holiday shifts.
Top priority will be given to applicants with experience working in a veterinary hospital. However, we are willing to train the right applicant. Candidates must have experience in a customer service environment. This position requires someone who is excellent at handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. All members are required to have a caring and compassionate attitude.
