Position Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist II develops and delivers speech-language pathology services to patients specific to diagnosis, age, developmental level and cultural orientation to patients with routine to complex conditions. Provides functional supervision to speech-language personnel assisting in patient treatment. Participates in program/service development activities and Performance Improvement initiatives. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders/Sciences. One-year experience as a SLP I, or one year experience in pediatrics, preferably in a hospital setting. Must be available for one Saturday per month. License, Registration or Certification Required:
Current certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology. California state license in speech-language pathology. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider certification. Additional competencies may be required by the work location. Skills Required : Accurate evaluation and treatment skills. Organized, collaborative, team player, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Working knowledge of computers, data collection and analysis. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, verbally and in writing. Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish.
