Nike operates the largest and most responsive, resilient, and responsible Apparel / Accessories & Footwear Supply Chain in the World. We create, source, manufacture, move, and deliver over $50B of physical goods for Nike, Jordan, and Converse across every Field of Play. In order to continue operating at speed and at scale, Nike’s Supply Chain is shifting to a “center-served” offense that will drive standardization across end-to-end geo and functional strategies, performance metrics, portfolio prioritization, resource pooling, and program / capability execution. As the new Supply Chain offense takes shape, we are looking for a Director, Supply Chain Portfolio Management to help design, build, activate, and accelerate the Supply Chain Portfolio mandate, Objectives & Key Results framework, and growth and development of a team eager to create the future. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone that can bring an innovative approach to portfolio that embeds it how leaders operate and make decisions! We’re looking for an agile-minded, trusted enterprise leader who will take overall responsibility for driving repeatable, performance-centric translations of our Supply Chain strategies into prioritized programs / capabilities. This leader will be highly self-aware, obsess her / his people and their career development, and build trusted partnerships with senior leaders across the entire supply chain. This role is responsible for establishing the Supply Chain Portfolio Management offense and driving the activities of this offense to ensure performance metrics have been set for key initiatives, prioritization criteria have been established, and funds / resources have been committed to the programs / capabilities that promise to deliver the most value across Nike. We are looking for a candidate who has: A high degree of self-awareness and the ability to remain even keel in times of high emotion. An enterprise thinker with a passion for building and championing portfolio management / agile portfolios. The courage to introduce new ways of working, fail fast, and innovate again and again with an agile mindset. A proven track record of building visions (and strategies) that energize teammates and leaders. Experience rallying teams around a vision and helping teammates understand their role delivering on that vision. Demonstrated examples of process / system design and delivery excellence in association with said design. History operating in a continuous improvement environment. Strong executive presence, subject matter command, and comfort as an influencer and communicator. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON If this is you, you’ll be working in close partnership with stakeholders across Nike Supply Chain’s Innovation, Business Integration, Performance Management, Capabilities, Marketplace, and Product teams, coordinating an integrated set of end-to-end Supply Chain frameworks to foster a culture of accountability, execution, learning, and continuous improvement: Program and Capability prioritization framework. Objectives and Key Results planning framework. Agile delivery framework (e.g., Planning, Stand-ups, Retrospectives, & Reviews). Typical responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to: People Development: understanding the strengths of the team and helping them grow in their roles / careers. Mission Discipline: keeping the Supply Chain Portfolio Management team focused on the team’s mandate. Collaboration: making connections and driving engagement with teams upstream and downstream. Portfolio Prioritization: establishing robust criteria for end-to-end Supply Chain program / capability prioritization. Planning: designing, coordinating, and leading planning efforts for prioritized programs / capabilities. Delivery: facilitating Agile ceremonies for select programs / capabilities. Check / Adjust: working closely with Supply Chain Innovation, Performance Management, and Capabilities to continuously check progress against program / capability KPIs, and coordinate the root cause analysis of “opportunities” as they arise. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH This role will be hired into the Nike Supply Chain Operations team. It will report directly to the Senior Director, Supply Chain Performance Management. The role will work closely with the Supply Chain and Supply Chain Operations leadership teams. This role will also have leadership responsibility for six Portfolio Management Leads and Analysts. It will be a unique blend of strategy, execution, and people leadership. WHAT YOU BRING Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 8 yrs; Masters + 9 yrs; Associates degree + 11 yrs; High School + 12 yrs Additional skills and competencies: 10+ years total work experience; 5+ years leading direct reports or delivery teams (as a consultant) Experience in Agile Portfolio / Portfolio Management a must; experience in Supply Chain highly desirable. Highly results-oriented and operates with a high sense of urgency. Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a global, highly matrixed, relational setting. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Self-directed, persistent and comfortable working in ambiguous environments. Humility and the ability to check seniority, title, hierarchy at the door and work in a team setting to deliver results. Passion for Nike product and brand. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex activities at once.
