Overview Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) to work us in support of the VA San Diego Healthcare System, located at 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92161. Responsibilities Performs all levels of respiratory care to include monitoring of ventilator patients. The contracted therapists shall also be expected to chart using VA Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA). The duties and responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist include, but are not limited to the following: + Administers various respiratory therapy procedures including adult mechanical ventilation, ultrasonic nebulization, humidification, nebulizing medication, chest physiotherapy and various forms of oxygen therapy. + Performs sputum inductions, having patients breath nebulized particles (if necessary) of appropriate solutions for diagnostic tests as routine culture and sensitivity, TB and fungal cultures and cytologist examinations for abnormal cells. Performs, if necessary, nasal tracheal suctioning to obtain culture using aseptic technique. + Instructs patients and relatives on home self-care relative to home aerosol, home oxygen, etc. with proper documentation in the patients record via computer. + Provides appropriate equipment to patients receiving respiratory care following all infection control policies and procedures. + Responds to all emergency and cardiac arrests alarms and is responsible to assure adequate ventilation or give assistance as required. + Significant knowledge of related disciplines is required to fully evaluate and properly carry- out patient procedures consistent with good quality control practices, patient care management practices and quality assurance programs. + Perform his/her duties and functions as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with integrity and appropriate ethical behavior. In accordance with ethical standards of nationally recognized professional organizations. + Treat patients and colleagues with respect, care and thoughtfulness. + Perform duties in an accurate, precise, timely and responsible manner. + Safeguard patient information as confidential. + Prudently use Respiratory resources. + Track and order supplies necessary for the daily operation of the section if assigned. + Work within the boundaries of the law and regulations and strive to disclose illegal or improper behavior to the appropriate authorities. Qualifications + Must be a high school graduate or equivalent + National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed or otherwise licensed in the specialty area + American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification + American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred + Three (3) year of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience in a hospital setting All candidates must be able to: + Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift + Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist + Lift up to 20 lbs + Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance + Push/pull with 30 lbs of force All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
