TITLE: Maintenance Technician 1
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards. This position performs skilled work using standardized practices in at least one or more of the following trades: Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, & HVAC.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plumbing: basic plumbing repairs such as but not limited to: repairing and installing toilets, water fountains, sprinklers, sewer lines, sinks, faucets, sink drains, and water heaters.
  • Electrical: basic electrical repairs such as but not limited to: working on lights, receptacles. replacing bulbs, replacing ballasts
  • Carpentry: basic carpentry repairs such as but not limited to installation, repair of drywall, walls, flooring, ceramic tile, shelving, and painting.
  • HVAC: basic HVAC repairs such as but not limited to: changing filters, cleaning drains, and assisting in removing or installing PTAC units.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean/safe workplace such as but not limited to: moving materials, storing materials, debris removal, and floor cleaning as needed.
  • Assist in moving company equipment such as but not limited to: furniture, desks, office supplies, packages, and facility items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

  • Highly focused and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One to five years of maintenance experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory, mechanics of plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet.
