Job Description
Job Summary:
The incumbent provides routine clinic nursing procedures and personal care services to patients.
Essential Functions:
  • Obtains and records patient's vital signs and weight
  • Assists Provider with patient examinations
  • perform medical procedures, and wound care, as needed
  • Administers and documents medication administration in patient chart example oral subconscious or intramuscular injection
  • Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples
  • Reviews Provider's orders, lab requests and close out tasks and provider or nurse and LPN buckets
  • Interviews patient to determine medical problem/condition and documents in chart for provider
  • Assist patients with scheduling follow appointments
  • Complete and submit prior authorizations for imaging, medications, Nexplanon, Paragard, procedures
  • Processes patient referral requests and Conducts insurance Verification for referrals
  • Follow up on patient request as ordered by provider example medication refills telephone inquiries from affiliated agencies and other specialty providers as needed
  • Maintains health department STD treatment lists and verification records
  • Communicate with affiliated agencies regarding test results and updates on patients, maintenance of Health Department. STD Tx lists and verification of Tx
  • Supports Chronic Care Management Team
  • Assist with stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies
  • Assist in administering Covid-19 testing and education
  • Sterilizes equipment and supplies
  • Maintains crash cart to ensure all medications and supplies are current
  • Act as back up for patient flow
  • Meeting with pharmaceutical representative and receiving medications and aiding with connecting with providers
  • Oversees Vaccine for Children (VFC) Program
  • Maintains medical equipment and monitors need of equipment.
  • Assist with onboarding on new CMAs
  • Participates in community education programs and Health fairs
  • Administers and coordinate flu vaccine clinics
  • Provides education to patients as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
  • One year certificate from college or technical school for Licensed Graduate Practical Nursing; One year of practical experience in a community health center or an allied health field environment.
