About the Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Manager, AP African AmericanStudies, you will develop evidence-based, actionable, and strategicapproaches to meet AP African American Studies\' top priorities, andwith the project management needed to execute those approaches themsuccessfully. Specifically, this leader will define and manage theimplementation of the program by helping our field teams advisedistricts and schools on implementation, creating models for teams of APAfrican American Studies teachers in schools, and designing thecurricular and instructional crosswalks necessary to implement thecourse in the field. Your work will advance the successful launch andadoption of the course in schools and districts across the nation. Your role will include monitoring and supporting teacher and schoolsatisfaction, establishing understanding and acceptance of the course,and setting annual growth and volume metrics and supporting our fieldteams in achieving them.As the Senior Director, you will partner withcross-functional teams to grow the number of students accessing theAfrican American Studies course and exam, with a particular emphasis onbroadening access for all students. You\'ll thrive when handling multiple projects, and can adapt, respondquickly, and innovate. You possess an exceptional ability to write andapply knowledge of the course to local school and district contexts. In this role, you will: Develop a deep familiarity with and knowledge of the relevant APCourse Framework and/or AP Course and Exam Description. Design and execute on initiatives that address complex strategicissues related to expanding equitable student access at both theprogram and course level, with a particular focus on supportingteams of educators in providing a sufficient number of sections toserve students, based on existing AP potential. Develop and implement a sales model for leveraging instructionalexpertise and resources that supports the teams responsible forschool and district outreach. Evaluate and transform school and state feasibility data andlearnings into actionable strategic knowledge using superbanalytical acumen, critical thinking, and communication skills. Collaborate with the State and District Partnership team to definestrategic growth opportunities through engagement with leadingorganizations (disciplinary or community-based) and K12institutions. Leverage instructional expertise and resources to support the teamsresponsible for school and district outreach. Create crosswalks of the relevant state, district or highereducation learning standards with the AP required content andskills. Collaborate across the AP team to ensure these products andmaterials align to our curriculum, instruction, and assessments. Build operational systems across teams to track progress towardsgoals and support field teams in their outreach. Manage a small team of consultants who support outreach for APAfrican American Studies.Build awareness and acceptance of APAfrican American Studies through presentations at conferences,dialogue with K12 institutions, and broader engagement of teacherdisciplinary associations and organizations. About You You have: 10+ years of professional experience in school and district leadership,including relevant experience with efforts to expand access anddiversity in your school\'s or district\'s Advanced Placement Program. Graduate degree in education or leadership, preferred Teach or have taught an African American Studies, Ethnic Studies, orrelated course, preferred A successful record of accomplishment leading multiple diverse projectswith responsibility for balancing competing demands for project scope,time, cost, risk, and quality within a limited pool of resources. A strong background in teaching and learning, and experience coaching APteachers. Exceptional written communication, public presentation, and advocacyskills.
