Job Description
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
* Understand the use of GD T as it applies to Shape designs.
* Create and maintain 3D solid models, bill of materials data and engineering drawings using design software.
* Provide CAD math data transfers for both internal and external customers.
* Provide CAD support for engineers and program teams to develop innovative and effective design solutions for process, tooling and fixture problems.
* Contribute to the development of alternatives by analyzing the pros and cons of alternative design options, preparing those design options, and assisting in the selection of an optimized design alternative.
* Coordinate with program and engineer teams to support design for manufacturability (DFM).
* Identify and use the appropriate strategies and processes to test design (e.g. rapid prototyping).
* Maintain department databases.
* Responsible for safety in process design and in execution of daily activities.
* Ensure compliance of practices, procedures and instructions relative to applicable corporate standards (ISO, TS, etc).
* Ensure quality outputs from daily activities.
o Use of proper data collection and analysis to ensure provided information is supported with data that reinforces the stated output.
o Coordinate/facilitate/analyze process design of experiments (DOE's).
* Ensure timely execution of planned activities.
* Provide process design and improvements in a cost efficient manner.
* Proficient in completing cost justifications with acceptable ROI.
* Foster good working relationship and demonstrate effective communication skills with vendors, team members, suppliers and project teams.
* Capable of independent decision making.
* Proven ability to report work status concisely to leadership.
* Use scientific method for problem solving.
* Anticipate and recognize the existence of a problem; uses original analyses and generate new, innovate ideas.
* Commit to a solution in a timely manner and develop a realistic approach for implementing a solution.
* Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.
Requirements
o Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree from an accredited institution with 0-3 years of professional engineering experience
o 2-year Technical Degree with a minimum of 5 years applicable experience in 3D printing specifically
o Journeyman card with a minimum of 3 years applicable experience
* Knowledge of Solidworks and DraftSight and 3D Printing required. Knowledge of CATIA V5 preferred.
* Knowledge of DFMEA
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
* Travel is occasionally required, up to 10% of the time.
