The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing interventional angiography procedures. Operating with minimal supervision from attending physicians, this position involves direct patient care, basic monitoring, assisting with invasive radiographic procedures, and accurate documentation. As integral members of the Patient Care Team, these specialists collaborate to achieve identified patient outcomes, primarily serving adult through adult-geriatric populations.
_Responsibilities:_
Perform all Interventional Radiology procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.
Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, providing patient instruction and utilizing aseptic techniques.
Assist interventional radiologists with procedural tasks, including equipment setup and operation.
Practice established principles of radiation safety and protection.
Document procedures accurately and comprehensively.
_Qualifications:_
Education and Certification:
Valid certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist.
Skills and Experience:
Proficient in anatomy knowledge and medical terminology.
Experience with various imaging modalities such as CT scans, PET scans, mammography, sonography, and X-rays.
Familiarity with medical imaging software and equipment operation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Experience working in an emergency room (ER) setting is a plus.
Interventional Radiology/Vascular/Cath Lab/Scrub experience preferred.
