Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab

A cath lab nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who specializes in providing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a catheterization laboratory. This type of nurse is responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:
Pre-procedure assessment: conducting patient assessments and reviewing medical history, medications, allergies, and other relevant information to prepare the patient for the procedure.
Procedure preparation: preparing the patient, equipment, and room for the procedure, and ensuring the patient is positioned correctly.
Monitoring: monitoring the patient's vital signs and general well-being throughout the procedure.
Assisting the physician: assisting the physician with the procedure, including preparing and administering medications, monitoring the patient's vital signs, and operating equipment as directed.
Post-procedure care: providing post-procedural care and monitoring, including observation for any adverse reactions or complications, administering medications, and dressing the insertion site.
Documentation: documenting the patient's procedure, vital signs, medications, and any adverse reactions or complications.
The ideal candidate for a cath lab nurse position should have excellent patient care skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. In addition, a cath lab nurse should have a current registered nursing license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and experience working in a cath lab setting.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
