Student Support Liaison: Redirection - $1,000 Building Differential Available! JobID: 11314 Position Type: Other/ Other Date Posted: 8/6/2024 Location: Williams Jr High The Davenport Community School District is an EEO/AA employer.Minimum Salary: 16.52 + dependent on education & experience195 days per school year (which includes 9 paid holidays) Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships) Develop positive & meaningful relationships specifically with the Redirection Students. Assist Redirection students with support with both Edgenuity and regular coursework. Become familiar with student support systems in the building and district to benefit Redirection students. Collaborate with school staff to organize and oversee individual student accommodations and programming. Assist with behavioral choices and instilling positive reinforcement with Redirection students. Participate in home visits for Redirection students when appropriate. Facilitate small groups to build non-cognitive skills such as educational commitment & time management. Assist with the notification of Redirection student & parents/families when a student is at risk of not passing a class; develop plans to support student success. Assist students with developing healthy & effective organizational/study habits to be successful in school & life. Keep accurate, up-to-date records on students participating in mentoring, tutoring, & school & community activities related to the Redirection Program. Act as Check and Connect mentor to assigned group of students. Other duties as assigned. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­ Physical Requirements of Position:(HBV ? Yes ? Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting. Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential Experience working with at-risk high school youth preferred. BA in related field preferred. Possesses the ability to work effectively in small or larger teams and independently. Exhibit positive interpersonal skills. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with technology skills necessary to complete job duties including data entry on state website, Outlook and Microsoft Word products.
