Senior Software Engineer . This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity. Purpose: Design, develop, and test software for Westinghouse product lines. Program PLCs, HMIs, and Databases. Work with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical) and technical writers to successfully complete fuel handling equipment projects. Your Day-to-Day: Implement the standards contained in the Westinghouse "Code of Business Ethics & Conduct and Defense Industry Initiatives". Ensure that all employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards and related policies and enforce them within this supervised activity. Design and develop PLC software using Proficy and/or Siemens TIA Portal. Design and develop HMIs using Wonderware and/or Siemens WIN 7. Integrate HMI and database interfaces. Debug and test PLC and HMI software. Knowledge of Cybersecurity and Computer Hardening. Familiarity with Access databases and SQL. Understanding analog and digital interfaces to control systems. Perform critical design reviews of other software projects. Demonstrate and utilize software development best practices for successful completion of projects. Provide support for existing customers of Westinghouse Nuclear product line. Plan, schedule, and perform work to meet assignment requirements within established scope, schedule, and budgetary requirements. Read and understand schematic diagrams and apply pertinent information to the project software. Interface on a limited basis with customers, vendors, and other internal functional groups on a professional level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments. Identify and communicate areas for product/service improvements to management personnel. Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and assist in implementation. Resolve corrective action (CAP) issues as required. Support process improvement efforts within department and company. Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks. Identify and assist in development of new business opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned. Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Experience and proficiency with: Degree in software engineering, computer science, or programming. Associate or technical degree desired or will consider 5 or more years of applicable work experience. PLC programming with GE Fanuc Proficy Logic Developer & Siemens TIA Portal. Platforms: GE Fanuc/Emerson RX3i, and Siemens S7 series. HMI programming with Wonderware InTouch, GE Fanuc Proficy View, and Siemens WIN 7. Motor Drive configuration/programming: servo and variable frequency Communications: Ethernet, Profinet, and DeviceNet Nice-to-Have: HMI programming with Cimplicity PLC programming with GE LogicMaster, and Siemens Step7.
