Field Superintendent - Concrete

CCI is looking for a Field Superintendent candidates for construction projects based in our Livonia, Michigan region. To be considered for this position, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years construction and supervisory experience with carpenters, laborers, finishers or operators and have a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving and wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals. Candidates willing to relocate and/or travel are preferred.

What You Will Do:

As Project Superintendent, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for project safety include inspections, TAG's, pre-task analysis and interface with Director of Safety and ensures appropriate safety training and awareness is administered daily
• Study, review, interpret and thoroughly understand contract/project documents including submittals, shop drawings, drawings, specification, project documents, work scopes, work categories and subcontractor/vendor scopes
• Complete daily reports and timecards daily
• Communicate effectively and professionally with architects, engineers, general contractors and/or construction managers as needed
• Work with project team to develop project work plans and schedules and review work plans/schedules on a weekly basis with the Project Manager, General Superintendent and/or Manager of Concrete/Civil Operations
• Assist with generating RFI's and project changes including communicating any changes with the field
• Maintain appropriate levels of manpower to maintain schedule and maximize profits
• Work closely and cooperatively with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Engineer to ensure project goals are met
• Coordinate with other subcontractors to ensure efficiency
• Work with Project Manager to track costs including weekly productions
• Sound the alarm in the event of an issue
• Estimate, order, sequence and report all materials necessary
• Attends all LDP meetings
• Support Civil and Concrete Strategic Planning initiatives; effectively implement and ensure compliance with strategic plan

What You Will Bring to the Team:

Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

• Five to ten years of commercial construction experience as a foreman or superintendent requiring professionalism and integrity.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Successful completion of classes or other training in construction management, project management, safety, communication.
• Demonstrated interest in and ability to develop familiarity with the site requirements, tools, methods, and materials of the full range of trade divisions.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks while completing work within established deadlines.
• Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and keep commitments.
• Must have excellent written and oral skills.
• Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Have a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving.
• Have a wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. As part of our focus on being a Great Place to Work, we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics we expect:

• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach (with hands and arms), climb, balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, be able to use a telephone and operate a keyboard.
• Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
