<b>Job Details:</b> <br> <br> <b>Pay rate:</b> $15.00<br> <br> <b>SUMMARY</b>: This position is responsible for all aspects of humanly raising and caring for the Smart Chicken&reg; livestock.<br> <br> <b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Read water meters</li> <li>Pick up daily mortality</li> <li>Check for proper equipment operations</li> <li>Ensure birds have water and feed</li> <li>Ensure all equipment is functional</li> <li>Prepare houses for new chick arrival & placement of new chicks</li> <li>Prepare houses for bird load-out and reconditioning</li> <li>Master and practice essential farm animal husbandry</li> <li>Outdoor duties include: mowing, and grass trimming, snow removal</li> <li>Adhere to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulations</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul> <br> <b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Ability to work and operate equipment safely and effectively</li> <li>Ability to use time wisely while working independently</li> <li>Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals</li> <li>Good observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideas</li> <li>Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required</li> <li>Must be willing to adhere to and support all company policies, programs, guidelines and standards of conduct.</li></ul> <br> <b> Education and/or Experience</b> <br> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li> <li>Previous experience working with livestock preferred but not required</li></ul> <br> <b>Communication Skills</b> <br> <ul> <li>Must be able to communicate effectively</li></ul> <br> <b>Physical Requirements / Environment:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Occasionally (1-3 hrs.): lift/carry (up to 45 lbs.), push/pull (up to 100 lbs.), crawl, crouch, kneel, squat or balance</li> <li>Frequently (3-6 hrs.): lift/carry and push/pull (up to 10 lbs.), simple/firm grasping, reaching at shoulder height or slightly above, bend/stoop, fine manipulation/hand tools, climb working at unprotected heights when on a ladder</li> <li>Continuously (6-8 hrs.): stand/walk, work around moving machinery, exposed to marked changes in temperature; outside in varied weather conditions, indoors in a regulated environment, around and amongst poultry dust, odor, blood, and ammonia, talk and hear, use 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses</li></ul> <br> <b>Rehiring Criteria: Applicant must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior.
