In this role, you will lead a team of HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) Application Engineers. This entails managing individual and team workloads, training new team members and ensuring employees work toward company goals and objectives. You will be responsible for disciplinary management of 1+ experts/professionals.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities: </strong><br><br><strong>Communicating and setting goals with team members:</strong><br><ul><li>Regularly communicate with team members to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives through 1-on-1 meetings and regular team meetings </li><li>Set clear, achievable goals for individuals and the team as a whole, taking into account their skills and capabilities </li><li>Ensure that everyone understands their role in achieving these goals and the importance of their contributions to the team's success </li><li>Discuss career development goals and opportunities for growth within the organization </li><li>Support the team members in their career goals and work out progression plans for individual team members if required</li></ul><br><strong>Planning workloads and delegating tasks:</strong><br><ul><li>Analyze project requirements and timelines to effectively distribute work among team members. Using the companies project planning tools and weekly scheduling meetings to achieve this</li><li>Collaborate with project managers to assign team members to projects</li><li>Consider individual strengths and expertise when assigning tasks to optimize efficiency and productivity </li><li>Monitor work progress to identify any bottlenecks or issues, and adjust workload distribution as needed</li></ul><br><strong>Assessing performance and providing feedback through performance appraisals and meetings:</strong><br><ul><li>Conduct regular performance evaluations to assess individual and team performance against established goals and expectations.</li><li>Provide constructive feedback to team members, recognizing opportunities for improvement and addressing areas of concern </li></ul><br><strong>Responsibility for disciplinary management of 1+ experts/professionals:</strong><br><ul><li>Handle disciplinary matters professionally and document all disciplinary actions taken and ensure consistency in enforcement across the team </li><li>Address performance issues promptly and fairly, following due process and providing support for improvement where possible </li></ul><br><strong>Assist in hiring and training employees:</strong><br><ul><li>Participate in the recruitment process by identifying staffing needs, participating on career fairs, reviewing resumes, and conducting interviews </li><li>Assist in onboarding new employees, providing training and guidance to help them acclimate to their roles and the company culture </li><li>Mentor new hires and facilitate their integration into the team </li><li>Aid in improving the existing recruiting and onboarding processes to improve the overall quality of candidates and experience for those candidates </li></ul><br><strong>Qualifications:</strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Controls, Computer Science or Software)</li><li>4+ years related experience in engineering management, development, or leadership roles</li><li>Experience with project management, leadership, mentoring, problem solving and multi-tasking</li><li>Experience in the deployment, usage, and support of dSPACE tools</li><li>Ability to teach/mentor others</li><li>Good communication skills</li></ul>
