Chipton-Ross is seeking a Nurse 3 for a contract opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Respond to emergencies and administer first aid to employees for job related illnesses and injuries.
o Deliver OSHA and job/site/contract required surveillance program services (i.e. hearing conservation, respiratory protection, visual acuity, bloodborne pathogens, biological monitoring, etc.) to identified employee populations in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety. Note: most of these services are performed offsite by an outside clinic, but the nurse will be responsible for scheduling, obtaining and reviewing all results from the clinic.
o Maintain accurate recordkeeping in electronic medical records system (Cority) in compliance with OSHA requirements.
o Dispense OTC Medications.
o Work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers. Nurse will assist in providing appropriate training to management and employees.
o Maintain compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing occupational health and safety for employees and the workplace.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o At least 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse and some occupational health experience with Associate of Science in Nursing
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and internet navigation
o Strong presentation skills
o Ability to work independently or with a team on special projects
o Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
o Strong attention to detail
o Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously
o Ability to maintain confidential documents and information
o Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines
o Ability to function within all levels of organization and at various locations
o CPR/BLS
PREFERRED:
o Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
o 2+ years in occupational health
o Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)
o Spirometry (NIOSH approved course optimal)
o Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
o Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
School must be accredited
HOURS:
Part-time. 100% On-Site. Hours: Thursday-Friday, 6:00am-3:00pm - may be asked to provide additional support to cover time off of other nurses.
