POSITION TITLE:  Engineering Manager                                  EFFECTIVE DATE:  June 2024                                                                       

DEPARTMENT:    Engineering – Machine Division                     

POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct and coordinate the design and development of automated equipment to meet customer requirements.  Manage and supervise design and engineering functions within the department.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·         Plan and develop machine and fixture concept, operational sequences, electrical, pneumatic and heat diagrams, applicator and other related processes, all of which meet customer requirements and realize proper return on investment

·         Communicate with customers in initial discussions of requirements and proposals, and work with field sales to present quotations to customers as necessary 

·         Prepare quotes and approve engineering designs

·         Establish areas of responsibility for immediate subordinates, give general direction, set up standards of performance, check progress of work and ensure that company policies are carried out.  Consult, advise, and instruct subordinates regarding requirements, specifications, quality and quantity standards

·         Work with Sales, Manufacturing, and others on matters of mutual concern and responsibility

·         Maintain technical edge and remain up to date on current engineering developments and trends

·         Analyze developments and trends and recommend applications for improvement.  Research new markets, designs and the like as assigned

·         Act as Project Manager on machines and customer requirements that need special attention

·         Prepare and monitor department budgets

·         Commit to following the Quality Policy established procedures and guidelines as required by the current

Fusion Standards.  Seek opportunities for continuous process improvement as a commitment to the Quality Policy

·         Adhere to and enforce prescribed safety rules and regulations

·         Practice good housekeeping to maintain a neat, clean, and safe work environment

·         Perform other duties as assigned or directed

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. 

·         10 years engineering experience including a minimum of 5 years managing and/or supervising experience in a manufacturing environment. 

·         Exhibit technical/mechanical and managerial competency.

·         Proven project management and organizational skills.

·         Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

·         Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.

·         Display willingness and ability to make sound, accurate decisions.

·         Knowledge of CAD operations.

·         Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Project.
