Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description:
Summary:
Responsible for delivery of patient care to a mainly geriatric population through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Also directs and guides patient teaching, activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a RN (Emergency Department preferred). Critical care background preferred.
Education:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
License/Certification:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in MA
ACLS/BLS required
TNCC preferred

ED RN Days/Eves/Nights Rotate & EOW - 36hrs.
*** 1. Unit Name: Emergency Department.
2. Brief Unit Description: 65-Bed Emergency Department, pod-based, with separate pediatric pod and separate Acute Mental Health area.
3. Years of Experience Required: 2 years Emergency Nursing experience.
4. Skill Sets Required: General ED nursing skills including but not limited to: Assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, Cardiac Monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking and patient education.
5. Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1:4.
6. Patient Population: All
. 7. Bed Count: 65.
8. Census: 230 visits/day.
9. EMR (Charting System): EPIC - ASAP.
10. Floating Required: Yes.
11. Rotating Shifts Required: Yes, for Day Rotate (7a-7p, 11a-11p, & 7p-7a) when requested. Rotation frequency: Low. Night position does not rotate.
12. Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (preferred).
13. Additional Information: TNCC strongly preferred.
