The Engineering Technician I is responsible for supporting the Engineering department by assisting engineers with the lifecycle development of medical devices, including new product development and maintenance of released products. You will be paid the $2,000.00 during your first pay period. </b><br /> <br /> <b> Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Packaging Engineering Tech: </b><p>• Support Packaging Engineering functions as assigned.<br />• Generate and maintain mechanical models and drawings utilizing computer aided design (CAD) program, according to specifications determined by the packaging engineers.<br />• Create and maintain packaging specifications utilizing CAD software programs.<br />• Generate models and/or convert files utilizing CAD software programs.<br />• Assist with various aspects of the packaging engineering development process as assigned.<br />• Assist engineers with the creation, modification, review, and processing of Engineering Change Orders.<br />• Communicate with internal and external customers for packaging related projects.<br />• Report progress and status of assignments on a timely basis with emphasis on reporting results to supervisor as appropriate.<p><b> Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Packaging Engineering Tech that Supports Packaging Validation: </b><br />• Support and/or Lead packaging validation activities for packaging materials and instrument cases.<br />• Coordinate, test, and evaluate packaging validation test samples.<br />• Support coordinating the build of heat-seal tooling and assuring process validations are completed for packaging designs with manufacturing.<br />• Support design changes to develop and improve packaging in support of design and/or manufacturing improvements.<p><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Packaging Engineering Tech that Supports Instrument Case Development: </b><br />• Develop Instrument Case Layouts utilizing CAD software programs in support of Instrument Case development projects.<br />• Support design changes to develop and improve packaging and/or instrument case designs in support of design and/or manufacturing improvements.<p><b>Knowledge:</b><br />Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts. Full knowledge of industry practices and standards.<br /> <br /><b>Reasoning Ability:</b><br />Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures <p> Discretion/Latitude:<br />Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions.<p><b> Skills: </b> <p> <b>Skills Required for Engineer Tech Associate - Packaging - Packaging Validation Specialty</b><br />• Basic knowledge of package testing equipment preferred.<br />• Basic knowledge of design, manufacturing, and inspection methods and processes.<br />• Coordinate Packaging Validation activities with assistance from packaging engineers.<br />• Ability to understand engineering specifications and drawing conventions.<p><b>Skills Required for Engineer Tech Associate - Packaging - Drafting / Modeling Specialty</b><br />• Able to generate non-complex packaging specifications using 2D CAD software.<br />• Able to draft packaging instructions using 2D Cad Software and Microsoft Word with guidance from engineering or senior technicians.<br />• Basic knowledge of design, manufacturing, and inspection methods and processes.<br />• Basic understanding of engineering specifications and drawing conventions.<p><b>Education/Experience:</b><br />• High School diploma or equivalent required<br />• Associate degree preferred <br />• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Software (i.e. Office, Word, Excel, etc.)<p><b>Reasoning Ability:</b><br />Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.<br /> <br /><b>Mathematical Skills</b><br />Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. <br /> <br /><b>Language and Communication Skills:</b><br />Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.
