Description
We are seeking a talented Electrical Utility Distribution Engineer to join our team in Maui, HI. This role offers the opportunity to develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards, including GIS and CAD tools. The successful candidate will also be involved in project work that focuses on grid hardening and reliability, substation optimization, joint use make ready, and street light projects. In addition, you will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, and customer advocacy such as acquiring easements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
- Comply with safety requirements and design expectations
- Perform engineer calculations and develop permitting documents
- Provide engineering support during construction and conduct root cause analysis of outages
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Engineering and 0+ years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with NESC Standards, ESRI, AutoCAD, and GIS is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Willingness to perform both field and office work, including outdoor environments
