Electrical Controls Engineer

Harrison Gray Seach has partnered with a world-class manufacturer of automation equipment for the medical industry, who is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join their Manufacturing Department. 

Electrical Controls Engineer General Summary: 

Controls Engineering role working for a growing custom automation company that makes equipment for the medical industry. Responsibilities include control systems design and implementation on fast-paced, large-scale automation projects. In this role, you will design controls systems, program PLCs, HMIs, robots, and vision systems. Lead the startup of equipment (debugging and commissioning) both onsite and at customer facilities. This role can have travel up to an estimated 20%. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

1. Produce error-proof, cost-effective drawings.

2. Creation of PLC and HMI applications. 

3. Meet KPIs and budget given for assignments. 

4. Strong design background, looking for increased quality and cost-effectiveness.

5. Quoting and processing parts orders. 

6. Assist sales department with quoting projects/field inspections. 

7. Generate detailed ECN’s.

8. Partner with project managers in the design and detailing portions of projects. 

9. Assume project engineer responsibilities for small to medium size projects. 

Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or 5 years control systems experience.

2. Proficient in using current release of AutoCad. 

3. Thorough understanding of PLC’s and programming 

4. Thorough understanding of HMI’s and configuring 

5. Knowledge of control components (sensors, motor control devices, etc.)

6. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

7. Follow and maintain all company policies and procedures. 

8. 20% of travel is required
