The Radiologic Tech Lead- CT is responsible for the daily operation of the Imaging Department at Oregon Urology Institute. The Lead is responsible for coordinating patient and tech scheduling and daily work assignments and serves as a resource for the Imaging Technologists in the Radiology Department. The Radiologic Tech Lead - CT suggests changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinates training and development of the Imaging Technologists, keeping them advised of technological changes. In addition to departmental oversight, the Lead demonstrates mastery of all Clinical Level Imaging competencies. The Lead independently performs procedures on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric-age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice. The Radiologic Tech Lead - CT coordinates and actively participates in the training of other Imaging Techs. The Lead monitors equipment and provides basic maintenance as required. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Assures the smooth flow of activities, recognizing when other staff members need assistance or other resources. Provides expertise in decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, and operations. Updates imaging guidelines and disseminates protocol changes to staff. Monitors daily attendance and processes time records. Develops and maintains schedules. Monitors equipment and coordinates repairs. Coordinates and participates in the training of new employees and staff. Monitors supplies and equipment inventories. Contributes to decision making for hiring and performance evaluation of Imaging employees. Maintains the quality assurance program for the section. Develops and expands staff members imaging skills. Develops protocols and implements quality performance standards. Prioritizes tasks and duties of all other staff in the department. Provides suggestions and recommendations regarding supplies and equipment. Assists with collection and data analysis. Assists with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned. Position patients and adjust equipment for taking X-rays/CT\'s following established procedures. Operating a C-arm equipment in an OR setting (this is preferred and have the ability to learn). Instruct patients regarding procedures. Follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required radiologic equipment. Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. Examine radiologic images for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification and distortion. Ensure equipment is in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Process routine paperwork Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Maintain patient confidentiality. Maintain strictest confidentiality.
