SUMMARY : Description: This position is responsible for providing engineering and project leadership for research and technology efforts related to materials (e.g., adhesives, coatings, sealants, plastics, glass). Projects may involve cost, quality, and/or performance enhancements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead projects related to materials and make recommendations as to viability of solutions to meet business needs.
  • Test and validate new materials in product applications, including material performance, processing capability, and durability testing.
  • Implement new materials and/or processes in a manufacturing environment by working with other engineering functions.
  • Work with suppliers to identify new materials, answer questions related to existing materials, and develop/optimize performance of both.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing projects, material related questions, and/or technical specification development.
  • Drive improvement activity through a solid understanding and application of statistical tools and interpretation of results for effective solutions (e.g., Design of Experiments, process mapping, process capability analysis, Pugh matrix, FMEA, MSA, control plans, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • BS Chemical/ Mechanical/ Materials Science/ or similar Engineering degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects
  • Exposure to project management working with collaborative, cross functional teams
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel, Minitab, JMP, or similar software.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
