LOGISTICS ASSOCIATE
APPARATUS is a New York-based designer and manufacturer of a distinctive catalog of high-end, high-touch lighting, furniture and objects. We produce both in-house and with the support of high-quality external partners; our catalog is sold globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as a primary point of contact for freight carriers.
  • Process both international and domestic outgoing shipments using commercial services (UPS, DHL, FedEX) freight forwarders and final mile services.
  • Accurately prepare and complete all required shipping documentation and transactions with each carrier; develop familiarity with major carriers' shipping systems.
  • Serve as last point of contact and customer service between APPARATUS and clients, working as liaison with Sales and clients for successful delivery of product; maintain detailed shipping records and supply tracking and shipping information to clients and the Sales team, as needed.
  • Provide quotes, status updates, and excellent customer service to both clients and internal teams.
  • Investigate and resolve issues with shipments (i.e. incorrect and/or returned packages, missed delivery commitments) and support client inquiries.
  • Audit and approve all freight invoices, flagging invoices that exceed the quote or are higher than standard.
  • Handle administrative duties including reconciling and submitting expenses.
  • Utilize Salesforce to view and maintain client and shipment information and communicate with the Manufacturing and Sales teams.
  • Review Salesforce reports to set priorities and timelines; plan your work to meet those timelines.
  • Ensure data integrity of all product information.
  • Identify and relay all shipping issues to the Director of Warehouse and Logistics and the sales opportunity owner.
  • Learn and maintain a deep level of product and departmental knowledge.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the operations of the department, its dependencies, and how it impacts the people and processes outside it.

  • Analytical problem-solver. Proficient with Excel and Salesforce. Able to learn to create and use reports and dashboards.

  • Able to be trusted with sensitive, confidential and proprietary information.
  • Annual respirator fit test and medical clearance required.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a high-paced environment that values consistency, efficiency and excellence.
  • Prior experience working on projects that required consistent and long periods of focus.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-time studio hours: Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM.
  • Longer hours and weekend availability as needed.
PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND CHECK-INS SCHEDULE
  • Initial skills review will take place 30 days from start date.
  • Regular check-ins.
  • Annual performance reviews.

Salary from $22/hour
