Job Description

We are looking for a Lead System Engineer to design, deploy and secure our client’s network. This position will be a full-time , hybrid contract.

What You’ll Do

  • Create a framework for the specification of a network's physical components and their functional organization and configuration, its operational principles, and procedures, as well as communication protocols used

  • Design, deploy, and secure the network of an organization

  • Performs site surveys and audits to ensure that the organization’s network site has the proper specifications

  • Secure and maintain the integrity of the supervisory control and data acquisition systems

  • Manage the entire hardware and software lifecycle, from conception to completion

  • Drive technological advancements within the network infrastructure

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, public administration, management information systems or a related field from an accredited college or university

  • Proficiency with Cisco Networks, Firewalls, Domain Controls

  • Proficiency with HMI (Human-Machine Interface), PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)

  • Experience with Transmitters devices that send signals to a receiver and Control Systems

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make informed decisions

  • Familiarity with RTU (Remote Terminal Unit)

  • Knowledge of the proper operation of switches that can break an electrical circuit by interrupting the current or diverting it from one conductor to another

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills

  • Travel to client locations within the DC Metro area as needed for the completion of work tasks

Preferred:

  • Certified OpenStack Administrator

  • Cisco Certified Design Expert or Cisco Certified Network Admin

  • CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ Data Center Design Consultant

  • ITCA Networks and Infrastructure Fundamentals

  • Microsoft Technology Associate IT

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office, or to other offices to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitors
