Position Description
Livonia Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Electrician for the Maintenance Department.
DISTRICT OVERVIEW:
Livonia Public Schools employs approximately 1,900 staff members, serving approximately 13,300 students pre-K - post secondary. There are 15 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 career technical center, 1 early childhood center, and 1 vocational and transition center in the school district. The annual budget for Livonia Public Schools is $175 million, with a state funding of $9,608 per pupil.

Qualifications
  • Electrical Master/Journeyman license with at least two years of related electrical experience necessary with additional experience desirable.
  • Electrical repair and installation experience in commercial buildings preferred.
  • Ability and experience in reading schematics and blueprints necessary.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Chauffeur's license.
  • Ability and willingness to work in high places necessary.
  • Must be self motivated and willing to work in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to accept additional training necessary.

Conditions of Employment
• Regular working hours are 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. All maintenance employees are subject to call in 24 hours per day, any day of the week, and must work the necessary hours required. An outstanding attendance record is a must.
• Specific details involved in the position will be discussed with the administrator during the interview and at the time of hiring for the position.
• Employee will report to the Supervisor of Maintenance.
Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement between the Livonia Public Schools School District and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO Local 118, Council 25.
