  • Knowledge of education funding and budgeting processes is a plus.

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
POSITION SUMMARY:
The NKEC Bookkeeper is responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and district policies. This role plays a vital part in supporting the financial operations of our organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage all aspects of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor budgetary expenditures and provide regular financial reports to Director of Finance.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with district staff to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure adherence to relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Provide support and training to school staff regarding financial procedures and systems.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the school district administration.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Office-based with regular interaction throughout the school.
  • Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.
PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
  • Regular travel within the school building and occasional off-site meetings.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Full-time position.
  • Expected Salary Range: $40,000 to $60,000 depending on qualifications.
