We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated and clinically sound Assistant Patient Care Manager to join our 22 bed Postpartum unit. This person will also assist in covering Labor & Delivery. The Assistant Patient Care Manager (PCM) oversees the delivery of nursing care on an assigned patient care unit on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis; manages professional and non-professional staff which includes interviewing, hiring, mentoring new and lesser experienced employees, coaching/discipline, completing performance appraisals, ensuring that employees are properly educated/trained, tracks licenses/certifications, employee engagement, etc. Also responsible for monitoring patient safety (HERO), hourly rounding, assisting PCMs with professional presentations, program development, performance improvement initiatives and departmental based and organization wide projects. This position is ideal for someone interested in starting their management career under the mentorship of the unit Patient Care Manager. Who Should Apply

: BSN required. 3 years of previous RN leadership experience. Work requires the analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific disciplinet/field and/or improve, enhance, or upgrade complex clinical, financial, data processing, marketing, or human resources systems and programs. Work requires the communication skills necessary to effectively manage the emloyees within assigned department and to persuade and negotiate with peer-level managers on issues and programs that impact the department. Work requires effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions. Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required. BLS CPR certification required. Ability to lead others, communicate effectively, problem solve, motivate others, promote cost-effective use of resources, and apply principles of evidence-based practice.
