Our Approach. </b> <br> <br> <b>Job Summary:</b> <br> <br>The Director, Solutions Design will provide support for the sales and systems engineering teams focused but not limited to the application of the FORTNA Cross Belt. This role will help the Cross Belt COE and Product owner develop design tools, costing standards, proposal and technical write-ups as well as establish training to increase the teams knowledge. This role collaborates with FORTNA R&D, and Cross Belt Product team to include engineering, execution, manufacturing, and solution development teams to provide the best solution to the customer.<br> <br> <b>Responsibilities:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Drive development of strategic plans; identify, evaluate and close on strategic opportunities across the business line.</li> <li>Proactively identify customer needs with new and existing customers in the parcel and government verticals</li> <li>Identify, create, and implement sales strategies focused on growing existing business, accessing new opportunities within existing accounts, and pursuing new accounts.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with engineering, solutions, execution, manufacturing, and peers to develop the best solutions for the client.</li> <li>Ability to formulate data relevant to the customer to empower customer decision making.</li> <li>Travel to customer sites in order to engage with and understand their needs.</li> <li>Manage execution of strategic sales plan including prioritization of activities.</li> <li>Perform other duties as may be assigned.</li></ul> <br> <b>Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (must be able to be ascertained from the resume):</b> <br> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in Cross Belt application, design and system installation</li> <li>Possess or obtain intimate knowledge of products, services, distribution, customers, and competitors.</li> <li>Strong self and social confidence and tenacity; polished and persuasive communicator and presenter</li> <li>Robust analytical and strategic planning and execution skills</li> <li>Creative decision making and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Taking initiative and working with limited direction</li> <li>Understanding of the competitive landscape</li> <li>Strategic selling, focus on influencing skills.</li> <li>Demonstrates strong project leadership skills and ability to drive cross functional collaboration.</li> <li>Identifies and engages key stakeholders in work, process changes and key decisions that have broader impact across organization.</li> <li>Effectively prepares for and customizes communications and presentations to audience.</li> <li>Translates broad strategies into specific goals, actions, and objectives.</li> <li>Makes timely, sound decisions and judgments based on input from others, data, and feedback, and understands the systemic consequences of business decisions.</li></ul> <br> <b>Education and Experience:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree, engineering</li> <li>10+ years of experience in a Technical Sales support role</li> <li>10+ years of experience in the automated material handling industry or related industrial businesses</li> <li>Ability to travel when required, both office and site environments</li></ul> <br> <b>Physical Requirements:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Ability to walk, kneel, crouch and balance, frequently.</li> <li>Ability to climb, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc., using feet, legs and/or hands and arms frequently.</li> <li>Ability to lift, push or pull up to 75lbs occasionally.</li> <li>Ability to sit/stand frequently for long and/or intermittent periods of time.</li> <li>Time spent between general office environment (with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting) and active construction site visits. </li> <li>Time spent on active job sites includes being subject to noise, being in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical power and control systems, and high places.</li> <li>Personal Protective Equipment required at active job sites. </li></ul> <br> <b>Travel Requirements:</b> <br> <br>This position may require up to 60% travel to various sites.<br> <br>This job description describes the general nature and level of work expected of a person assigned to this position.
