Academic advising, budget management, clinical site coordination, curriculum development, evaluation, and purchasing are an integral part of this position.<br /> <br /></p> <strong>Reporting Relationship:</strong> <p>Dean of Allied Health and Emergencies</p> <strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong> <p> <ol> <li>Conduct, coordinate, track, report and make recommendations to programmatic assessment outcomes to meet the criteria for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Illinois Department of Financial &amp; Professional Regulation (IDFPR).</li> <li>Collaborate with Dual Admission Programs and articulating BSN institutions to provide clear pathway options for program graduates to continue their educations.</li> <li>Endorse candidates for the Program Advisory Committee, organize annual meetings, create and distribute meeting minutes to Program Advisory Committee members to all Program Advisory Committee stakeholders, ensuring follow-up on recommended changes.</li> <li>Manage programmatic annual budget and provide space utilization direction, including renovations for the lab spaces.</li> <li>Evaluate the scheduling requirements of the program based on students' needs and make recommendations on the master schedule to the Division Dean and Academic Affairs.</li> <li>Interview and hire faculty, laboratory assistants, and tutors to support the programmatic needs in the classroom and at clinical locations.</li> <li>Order programmatic instructional materials for faculty; set up a Castlebranch account for faculty drug testing; and oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and proper ordering of programmatic equipment and supplies through the purchase order request process.</li> <li>Advise on instructional expectations, conduct classroom observations while providing timely feedback, and mentor faculty while supervising tutors, to enhance student learning.</li> <li>Maintain all programmatic data, including student files, while ensuring early intervention is taken for at-risk students to support program retention and performing regular in-person meetings with all first-year students.</li> <li>Serves as department liaison for the program to maintain clinical relationships within the community by being the primary point of contact with clinical site educators.</li> <li>Secures the clinical placements for faculty and students; creates clinical rosters/spreadsheets; distributes clinical rosters/spreadsheets to faculty and clinical educators; and monitors the students' completion of required electronic training.</li> <li>Advise adjuncts on clinical expectations, conduct clinical observations while providing timely feedback, and mentor adjuncts on clinical policies to enhance student learning.</li> <li>Update the clinical instructor manual, distributed information accordingly, and keep adjuncts informed of on-campus clinical days.</li> <li>Collect all clinical evaluations, analyze the evaluations, complete the cumulative clinical evaluation tool, and file the clinical evaluations in the students' files.</li> <li>Attend regular meetings with available clinical site educators to coordinate placements, maintain relationships, communicate updates, make site visits as needed, and serve as a resource.</li> <li>Attend and serve as a member of the nursing program's advisory committee meeting.<br /> <br /></li> <p></p></ol> <strong> <br /></strong> <br /> <br /></p> <strong>Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:</strong> <p>Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
